Rugged and built for tough tasks, the 2025 GMC Sierra HD is one of the best trucks for heavy-duty work or play. With two distinct lineups and various trim levels, finding the right pickup for you has never been easier.
Introducing the 2025 GMC Sierra HD
The 2025 Sierra HD maintains the same lineups as the previous year’s model, offering capability for all needs. The Sierra 2500 HD is a great option for most purposes. It comes in seven trim levels, including the popular AT4X built for extreme off-roading. The Sierra 3500 HD boasts the same engine options as the 2500 model but is more muscular with a higher towing capacity.
Models in both lineups can be customized to suit your needs. You can choose from 2WD and 4WD drivetrains, various cab styles with seats for three to six riders, and standard or long bed options, depending on the cab style. Select 3500 HD trims can also be had with dual rear wheels for increased stability when hauling or towing heavy loads.
Heavy-Duty Engine Options
Both the Sierra 2500 HD and the Sierra 3500 HD offer the same engine options. Standard on both models, a 6.6L V8 gas engine generates 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque, more than enough for spirited driving dynamics and confident handling on all terrains.
The available 6.6L Duramax Turbo Diesel V8 engine delivers 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque for a towing capacity of up to 21,780 lbs in the Sierra 2500 HD and 36,000 lbs in the Sierra 3500 HD. Both engines pair with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission for efficient gear shifting and enhanced fuel economy in all driving conditions.
Rugged Construction
Each 2025 Sierra HD model is ready to handle whatever the day is throwing at it. The truck’s wide stance offers impressive stability on rough or slippery terrains. Rugged front and rear bumpers and available skid plates protect the pickup’s body from flying road debris, while the heavy-duty wheels and tires enhance traction and offer plenty of ground clearance.
Animated LED projector headlights with LED daytime running lights and turn signals illuminate the road ahead and make you more visible in traffic. For easy cargo access, this truck also comes standard with a side bed step covered in black textured pads for more secure footing.
Tech to Keep You Safe
Standard on each model, the Sierra HD Pro Safety package enhances the truck with a suite of driver assistance technologies, including forward collision alerts, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and a following distance indicator.
Lane departure warning helps you stay centered in your lane in case you get distracted, while the IntelliBeam feature turns the high beams on and off automatically based on incoming traffic for added convenience.
