The nation’s favorite compact SUV is back with the all-new refresh of the 2024 VW Taos. As the smallest SUV in the 2024 lineup at your Volkswagen dealership, this small vehicle packs a punch with a massive personality and a variety of advanced standard features, all packaged with a sleek and sporty design.

1. Powertrains

The 2024 Taos has two powertrains. The first powertrain is a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive that produces 158 horsepower. The second powertrain is a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder engine with a seven-speed automatic transmission and 4MOTION AWD that generates 158 horsepower.

The S and SE allow drivers to choose either of these powertrains, while the seven-speed automatic powertrain is the only available option for the SEL model. The SEL also comes with selectable drive modes, an engine stop-start system, and electric power steering.
